Smoky Baked Beans
Whether French fried, baked, or in other forms, we love potatoes as a side dish at backyard fiestas, birthday parties, or other types of events. But we can’t deny the fact that many times we’d happily switch to baked beans. And we do, when WE’re throwing the party.
For a memorable smoky baked beans dish, you need drained and rinsed can navy beans. Soak them overnight before draining and simmering for about 40 mins, until tender. You’ll also need diced bacon strips, crushed garlic, diced sweet onion, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, freshly ground black pepper, mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, and molasses.
Begin with setting up the smoker to 275F° and preheating a skillet to medium heat on your stovetop. Add the bacon to the skillet and, when it starts to brown, throw in the onion and garlic, stirring to coat in the rendered fat.
When the onions have softened, remove from the heat, and add the rest of the ingredients, stirring to combine. Then, put the skillet on the smoker and cook for about two hours. Oh, what a delicacy…Better served while warm!
